Most popular blockchain games – August 2024

Welcome to our regular look at the most popular blockchain games, using data from DappRadar.

During August, social RPG Pixels continued its performance as the most popular blockchain game in terms of daily activity, attracting around 750,000 daily active unique wallets.

It was briefly challenged by fellow Ronin-based MMORPG Lumiterra, although its activity was juiced by a daily token giveaway and the launch of its first closed beta and has quickly fallen away, back to sub-50,000 DAUWs levels.

More generally, Ronin continues to be the gaming blockchain on which games are finding a decent pre-launch audience of players and token claimers.

Apeiron was joined by mobile RTS Wild Forest as games with audiences of more than 100,000 daily active wallets. Wild Forest is moving closer to the launch of its WF token.

New game Ragnarok: Monster World also breached 100,000 dailies for a time as its first closed beta test launch, but has dropped back down around 75,000 since.

As for games on other chains, activity dropped for a number of projects as their token reward campaigns completed, at least for the time being.

Blocklords Dynasty has stabilized at around 25,000 dailies compare to a peak of 130,000 when its LRDS token event was live. Boomland has also experienced a drop as Hunter On-Chain’s BOOM Season 1 ended.

Elsewhere, Alien Worlds and Nine Chronicles continued their modest growth during 2024, although remaining under the 100,000 daily active unique wallets level.

Finally, we took a look at Joyride Games, which has migrated its games from Flow to the Base blockchain. Activity on its Super Champs app is particularly strong in the build up to the launch of the CHAMPS token.
