Diablo 4 Gets a Hatred-Fueled Sixth Season And A Progression Makeover
Diablo 4’s public test realm is burning with excitement thanks to the massive 2.0 update. Here’s the lowdown on what awaits you in the fiery depths:
First off is a hint of what’s to come in the online ARPG’s next season. Data miners have reportedly unearthed the official working title for Season 6 – Season of Hatred. Get ready to face a fresh wave of nightmarish creatures twisted by the Prime Evil himself, Mephisto. But fear not, you won’t be facing this onslaught empty-handed.
According to Wowhead, new enemy types called Realmwalkers, agents of Mephisto’s influence, will roam various zones across Sanctuary. Vanquishing these new interdimensional foes will unlock Hell Portals where players will be able to earn powerful buffs to help them fight off Mephisto’s army.
For fashion-forward demon slayers, the latest PTR build also introduced several new hairstyles and dyes. The update doesn’t stop at cosmetics, though. Patch 2.0 brings a complete overhaul to Diablo 4’s core gameplay.
Reaching new heights of power is now easier with a reworked leveling system culminating in a brand-new level cap of 60. New difficulty levels for both base and endgame content will test your skills, while revamped skill trees and the return of legendary Runewords provide fresh ways to build the ultimate demon-slaying machine.
Finally, grouping up with your fellow demon hunters just got a whole lot easier with the introduction of the Party Finder feature. With the PTR ending on September 11th, this is your chance to test drive the changes and gear up for the official launch of Season 6 on October 8 alongside the release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
